TripleA New World Order 1939 AI vs AI

This post is about the game TripleA, which is an online, local network, or single player war game like the tabletop box game Axis and Allies. The first video below is a 1-hour AI vs AI screen capture of the New World Order Lebowski Edition 1939 European theater scenario. There are many other TripleA game scenarios here.

About the game:

TripleA is a free online turn based strategy game and board game engine, similar to such board games as Axis & Allies or Risk. TripleA comes with multiple games and over 100 more games can be downloaded from the user community. Supports single player vs AI, hot-seat, Play by Email and Forum, and a hosted Online lobby for live play online. Source: Triplea on SourceForge.net

About the game scenario:

New World Order Lebowski Edition 1939: The idea is to create a map focusing on balance and gameplay; this version adds 3 new powers to spice up diversity playing, thinned out the old units structure a bit to simplify things and better represent national advantage. Turn orders: Germany, Poland, Finland, Russia, Romania, France, Italy, U.K., Spain, Greece, Turkey, and U.S. Source: Axis & Allies Wikia.

About the AI:

The AI plays an odd strategy game, particularly against another AI. But this video will give you a very good insight into how the game is played. The music and sound affects are turned off around the 7 minute mark, and the Show AI Battles is turned off after the second complete round so that you can see non-combat movements more easily.

Recreate World War 2 with the Axis pushing through to Moscow, Japan devouring the Pacific, and the Allies desperately fighting back. Or recreate Napoleon’s march across Europe, or Rome defeating the Carthaginian Empire, or Sauron conquering Middle Earth, or even Zombies taking over America! If you have ever played a game where you push little plastic/virtual pieces around, roll dice, conquer the lands of your enemy, & produce new pieces to conquer with, you will be able to jump right into TripleA!

KickStarter Erasable Fantasy Gaming Maps by BlackWyrm Publishing

KickStarter: Erasable Fantasy Gaming Maps by BlackWyrm Publishing

Two different erasable fantasy tabletop gaming maps.

This project will fund the production of two useful, high-quality, and attractive erasable maps for roleplaying games, strategy games, war games, and other tabletop gaming needs: a fantasy castle (49 by 30 inches) and pirate ship (36 by 20 inches). These maps will use one inch squares to indicate distance. Upon completion of this project we will first make these maps available to our backers, and only then to retailers worldwide through distribution and directly to customers through our website.

Each of these robust erasable maps will be good for many, many individual gaming sessions! Thus, even though they are more expensive than other sorts of gaming maps, they are in the long run a much better bargain than other similar products, such as single-use disposable paper maps.

Although these maps are much more durable and elegant than maps you print yourself, we’ll throw in an electronic version of every map that you back so you can print it too!

These maps have been designed by veteran gaming cartographer Keith Curtis, responsible for much of the cartography in Hero Games books published over the last decade.

Tournament Games would be a lot more fun at this pace. No wait, let me be clear, tournament games would actually BE fun at this pace.
